Clinical interests
My major interest and endeavors have been in the area of alcohol and substance abuse treatment. Over the years I have developed a particular interest in how alcohol and substance abuse affects spouses, children and whole families. I have been active with organizations that specialize in helping spouses (both male and female) of substance abusers and their families. I have also worked with the parents of alcohol and substance abusers. Many of my clinical cases have been in the treatment and counseling of couples where one member is in recovery from alcohol and/or substance abuse. I have also been active and interested in the treatment of the Mentally Ill Chemically Abusing person (MICA).
Practice information
I have a limited private practice at present after running a private practice for over twenty years. Most of my patients are couples who are struggling with addictions (alcohol, drugs, sex, work, relationships). I also have a small practice working with golf, tennis and dance professionals to help them form better relationships with themselves.
Personal relationship status
I am divorced after eighteen years of marriage, and the father of three daughters, Jessica, 17 and Julie and Sarah (13 year-old twins).
