Practice information
I see individuals and couples from early adolescence to late adulthood in psychotherapy. I am an eclectic psychotherapist, tailoring the therapy to the individual patient''s needs, not trying to fit the patient into some neatly boxed theoretical formulation. Though well trained in a variety of psychotherapeutic modalities I am not dogmatic and try to model the flexibility I hope my patients adopt. In addition, I am a clinical neuropsychologist and a neuroscientist with expertise in the area of psychopharmacology, which besides being professional areas of interest themselves (e.g., assessment for learning disabilities, dementia, forensic evaluations) also help me to understand, in a fuller fashion, why people think, feel, and act the way they do.

Love-Life biography
Like many who came of age during the 1960''s I had my share of relationships. There was a song then that said, "If you can''t be with the one you love, love the one you''re with!" As I matured emotionally I grew wiser, became less defensive, and more discriminating in my choice of romantic partners. Listening to my patients and students taught me something not only about them but about myself, as well. I am now a better listener -- most importantly to those to whom I am closest. Improved self- awareness and listening skills are, I believe, crucial to a good love life. I have 2 adages, both borrowed from the world of advertising: "Select! Don''t settle!" and "You have to be in it to win it!".
